Whilst we wait for our super new clinic to be built, we want to take the opportunity to get to know you all… So welcome to Hope Vets on the road, OPEN NOW!
Does your pet get very stressed in the car? Do they panic in the waiting room? Do you struggle to get to the surgery or to find a time to make an appointment? Yes? Well why not let us come to you?
SERVICES We can treat your pets in the comfort of your own home and ease the stress for them and you. We offer appointments at any time of day including early in the morning or later in the evening to fit in with your busy lives.Hope Vets on the road offers most veterinary services including:
Stephanie (our vet) has a special interest in reptiles and exotic species but does not claim to be a specialist in this area. These species are sensitive and require very precise care. They often suffer from problems if the environment they are provided with in captivity doesn’t replicate the natural conditions for the species in the wild. We care for the more unusual creatures in partnership with Mark Amey a renown Zoologist who has an (almost) encyclopedic knowledge of reptiles and exotic species and who has had great success in keeping and breeding literally all creatures great and small for the past 40 years. We try to examine reptiles and exotic species by appointment at Mark’s shop: Ameyzoo in Bovingdon High Street (see www.ameyzoo.co.uk for details).
• Vaccinations for dogs, cats and rabbits • Health checks • Parasite control • Microchipping • Treatment of non-surgical ailments • Treatment of minor wounds • Monitoring and treatment of long term conditions • Nail clipping • Anal gland emptying • Pet passports • Home euthanasia
Pepsi just loves her tablets!
We keep full stocks of medications and supplies for your pets. Anything we don’t keep in stock can be ordered in for the following day. We are also happy to supply you with a prescription.
Unfortunately until our clinic opens next year there are some services we are not able to offer. We can’t perform surgical procedures or administer sedation or anaesthesia and we are unable to offer dental procedures or radiography. To ensure your pet has access to all the veterinary care he or she needs, we are working in co-operation with local veterinary surgeries that will perform any procedures Hope Vets can’t do in your home.
Please feel free to contact us should you require further information on our services or for any advice regarding your pet. We are always happy to help.

EMERGENCIES Our normal hours are 8am until 7pm, but what about emergencies? Unfortunately these things do happen and usually not at a convenient time. Hope Vets are open to emergencies 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In times of stress it is often easier to speak to someone you know and for this reason Hope Vets will be on the other end of the phone to help and advise you when you most need it: contact us. In an emergency we can also visit your pet at home to administer basic first aid and give treatment. Often emergencies do require clinic facilities, so until our own clinic is up and running, we will refer emergencies to Medivet in Watford who have a fully equipped 24 hour emergency hospital with staff on site at all times to care for your pet.
